I have been using several different stands for my iPad. I even purchased two specialty art stands made to use with a tablet for doing graphic art. The stands made specifically for tablets are too small and wobbly. They’re not a good fit due to the possibility of having an accident. Just because you can use a tiny stand to hold your iPad or tablet doesn’t mean that it’s necessarily the best fit for your expensive device. So I gave up on the stands made for tablets after trying several and jumped in and bought a laptop stand. I’m not sorry I did because as it turns out, it’s the wisest decision I have made in a long time. This stand is very stable—it doesn’t wobble like the stands that are much smaller. It fits my iPad Pro M4 perfectly. And come summer, there are enough openings in the shelf plate to place a small fan under my iPad to keep it cool on the hottest days. Sometimes you need to cool your iPad down on a hot summer day to prevent the emergency message coming up advising you to shut down the iPad because temperature is too high. The high temperatures of summer can cause damage to the iPad, or even destroy it. Apple doesn’t put fans inside because there isn’t enough room. But you can avoid overheating issues simply by placing a fan underneath the iPad. This stand is easy to use, but be aware that you need a bit of muscle to adjust it. Which means that it’s very stable. You needn’t worry that it’s going to collapse on you. The feature I like best though is that the two support arms are low enough that when I’m working on a graphic art painting, the ends of the arms won’t dig into my wrists while I work on a section of my painting near them. One of the stands I purchased specifically because it was made for executing graphic art on the iPad or tablet have placed the support arms with the curl on the end extending out and up into my wrists while, which can become painful after a short time of work on the piece. This stand was made for a laptop and has lowered the arms enough to avoid the painful issue that the “art” stand has. The other art stand I purchased in 2023 is made of bamboo is very pretty. But because it doesn’t have support arms and the iPad sits on a narrow 1/2” ledge, I have had many times that my iPad has slipped off and fallen to the floor. Obviously you want to avoid this type of accident to such an expensive device. The Aohivo stand supports the iPad safely and even if I put some weight on the iPad while working, it will stay where it is. The stand is rather heavy, which also means that it’s very stable and strong. It came with extra nuts and the tools to replace them as well as replacement rubber pads to keep the stand and the iPad from slipping around. With the bamboo stand I bought two years ago, one of the rubber pads came off within days. No big deal I thought. I’ll just contact the seller and ask for a replacement. Would you believe that the company doesn’t even have replacement pads and that the seller wanted me to send the art stand back so he could send a new one? And it’s highly likely that the art stand I sent him would end up in a landfill. Considering the ridiculousness of the idea of trashing a perfectly good art stand made me decide to keep it and try to find a replacement myself. At that time after several days of searching for replacement foot pads, I found that the only ones for sale online were being sold by unscrupulous sellers at $20 each or more. So I ended up going to my junk drawer and pulling out some sticky pads that I cut down to size. As I just bought this stand, I don’t know how good support is with this company. Because the builder is obviously the best for thinking ahead for replacements if we need it. All in all, I have been using the stand for 2-3 days and have found that it’s the best stand I have ever used. I don’t know why tablet owners are encouraged to buy smaller stands. But if air flow is the problem, this company solved the problem by leaving open gaps in the plate the iPad/tablet will sit on. So it will still be able to vent warm air and pick up cooler air. It’s a nice stand and they have so many colors to choose from. I couldn’t decide on what color I wanted, so I opted for the multi-colored stand for which I’m very happy with. And it arrived in a sturdy box, well protected from the ravages of package deliveries.
