After trying and returning 4 laptop stands that were "supposed" to be good up to 17 inch laptops, but were not, I got this one. the foot print size of my HP Omen 17.3 is 16.5" wide and the depth is 11". This holds is very well. Other ones the screen was ready to tip over. This one at a depth, front to rear, is 11". So it works great. Now, my wife tried it on her Dell 17" which is not as thick and it works even better. I ordered one for her. The configurations you can do with this are great. I highly recommend this one if you have a laptop or notebook bigger than about 10". Also, other ones tended to be wobbly but this one only has a very slight wobble. Hardly noticeable. Then too I am a big guy with large hands and many years in constrution, so I type heavy handed.......I was happy with this purchase. Saying that, however, it's not quite as sturdy as I had hoped. I'm not rough with it, so I'm expecting it to be fine. It's very light, which I like. Also, I like the fact that the positions of the legs is very flexible, and works great for me, as I sit in all kinds of weird positions in a chair.Laptop support in the bed, designed only for slim people.I got it for my wife for work and she loves itI needed this so I could work from my couch during a stint of medical bed rest. The adjustment for setting up the height was super awkward with having to press those big buttons on each side when adjusting the legs of the tray. But once I got it set up at just the right height, it has worked perfectly! I also love the addition of the computer fan!I had a learning experience before purchasing this item that relates to a couple of the reviews listed for this product.BEFORE I purchased Desk York, I saw advertisements on social media for a product similar (not the same brand). After seeing the ads over a couple of weeks, I was presented a new ad for a quarter of the price ($10) so I decided to purchase. I waited for weeks for them to arrive but it turned into close to almost 3 months! The product that I received was thin aluminum bars that would hold an e-reader or a tablet. It was NOT this product - so to those who say "I could have gotten this for a fraction of the price" - beware - what you think you're ordering and what you receive are not always the same. My review is below, containing honest key points.NOW The Desk York was available on Amazon so I ordered one because I want to stand more while working from home. While waiting the couple of days it took to arrive to me, I read the reviews for this product to see how others felt about it. I was really surprised that people reported being unable to figure out how to use it and complained about it. The product I received proved to me that the negative reviews are untrue.THE DESK YORK IS AMAZING!!!!I have had the Desk York for a few days and have put it to the test. I can stand with it on my desk, holding my keyboard or my laptop, the top panel is sturdy metal with a solid lip on the bottom edge of the platform that keeps my keyboard or laptop secure from slipping off. Great feature #1!The legs are NOT completely plastic but are made from a mix of strong plastic and the same metal material that the desk platform is made of. The leg joints are not cheaply made (as shown in pictures) and the fans are a good size, secured in place underneath the platform. The joints have buttons that push in to adjust and then click securely into place when the next angle is found. Adjusting each leg is easy and the angles are marked clearly (see pictures) which is Great feature #2!Overall: The platform of this desk is a great size. I have enough room for my laptop with a couple of inches on either side, or even to place a bigger laptop on it. The The fans are quiet, the desk is sturdy, the product comes with instructions to help you find the right angles. The angles are very easy to find and adjust due to the built in dials on the sides (see photos). It holds light keyboards to heavy laptops with ease. I will be purchasing another one via this seller for the holidays and upcoming birthdays after the New Year. I will definitely recommend this to anyone interested! THANK YOU DESK YORK!!First of all, the instructions aren't very clear but even without using them its pretty easy to figure out. Except that is, the mouse tray and there's nothing in the instructions to tell you how it mounts. I've used it a few times on the lounger and getting it to be stable is a bit tricky and I've only used it on a low, 1 click setting. I do like the fact that it is metal so it appears to be pretty durable I just can't speak for the mechanisms yet as I haven't had it that long. The seller is correct when he says its not too friendly to anyone with nails. So ladies, if you have nails be careful when pushing in the adjustment buttons. Overall I do like this its just one of those pieces that comes with a learning curve. Oh, it was my daughter who finally figured out the mouse tray. You have to have the table open and only then will the tab on the tray slide into the slot on the table and lay relatively flat.Out of all the little tables I've tried with my laptop this one is the best. Overall it seems to do the job pretty well it's lightweight. it could be a little sturdier. I wish it was maybe an inch wider it's just a little tight I like a little more room for movement between the legs of the table. I would think for a large person it would be to tight for Comfortable use. Overall I'm reasonably happy with it. I'm able to use the computer of the couch and in the bed.
