When Windows applications were starting to improve more with functionality, ease of use, and interactive icons, more and more software would come out that would help you learn and understand our world we live in. Such examples of learning applications include historical landscapes and technologies of centuries past, important and famous historical figures who help shape the world we know, and even applications that teach us how to understand Windows applications as well. This software is no exception. This is a complete encyclopedia on 1 CD. The CD contains the following...18,000+ articles on hundreds of subject matters such as science, history, agriculture, and many more topics...1,000's of photo's ranging from example diagrams to flags of every nation and country...Many videos about how the solar system works to live videos about important news around the world...Personal dictionary to help you learn about words and definitions...Although this software was made back in 1995, the information on the CD itself is fantastic for kids and teens who want a simple reference tool to work with. The interface is simple to use and easy to search anything that is on the CD. The program that comes with it allows you to search all articles or a single reference to a particular subject. You can also print out the articles and even save the references to a DOC or TXT file for easier access. With so much information packed on 1 CD, it's easy to see why you would want this as part of your learning collection.Sadly, because it was made back in 1995, it pretty much means this software will not work on any Windows OS beyond XP. The CD and program actually do work great, even on high resolution monitors. (The interface worked great on a 1280x960, it was designed to stretch and fit on any resolution setup) I personally had no issues come up during the install process (With the exception that it couldn't read the RAM properly, was designed to understand less than 999 Megs) This software is only for collectors or people who still have a running and working Windows XP. If you don't have any Windows XP or even 2000, I don't recommend this program since this is a very old program. Collectors only.
