This little scanner is really tiny - the black box part is just slightly bigger than a quarter in dimensions. It does work, but it can not scan long bar codes or very small bar codes. Long bar codes require the unit to be too far away to be able to capture the entire bar code image, and the scanner intensity is not bright enough to reflect back to the unit. Bar codes that are very small simply don't get read properly, where a desk PC scanner will resolve the bar code correctly. With that said, this unit will scan almost all commercial bar codes (ISBN, UPC, etc), and so it is useful. You can't expect extreme performance from a unit that is this small.I had hoped that I could get a cable that adapts the USB A male to an Android micro USB port and then scan items using an Android phone or tablet. Unfortunately, there is no driver available to do this. The company does sell a mini-Bluetooth scanner, but that unit is much more expensive $100+. So, when I'm on the road, I will be using this scanner with my Windows notebook, not my Android phone.
