I was totally surprised how easy it is to switch hard drives in a PS3, and it's because Sony made it so. Sony included instructions for changing the hard drive, and formatting it, in the user manual that came with the PS3. If you don't have the user manual then it can be downloaded from Sony. It took me all of about ten minutes to put this drive in my PS3, and I had no previous experience. By switching drives I went from a 80gb drive to a 1Tb drive, and it's working great. If you're wanting to upgrade to a larger hard drive in your PS3 then this is a good choice.
